Portnellan Farm: organic beef and moorings
Moorings on Loch Lomond
Portnellan Farm is situated on the secluded south-east shore of Loch Lomond between Balloch and Drymen and offers swing moorings in Portnellan Bay. Tenders may be stored on the shore.
Check our location at Portnellan Farm, Gartocharn, G83 8NL: we are quite protected from the north, east and south west (the prevailing wind) but even in a good westerly the boats ride the moorings well.

Safe parking is available on the farm and access to the loch shore is through a field. Although some boats on trailers are suitable for launching from the farm, keel boats and heavier craft should be launched at Balloch Slipway (please note charges now apply for this previously free service).
Boat access to Portnellan Bay requires knowledge of the safe passage into the moorings – full directions will be provided to boat owners.
Access to the farm is via a long private road from Gartocharn village – again, we will give full directions.
As elsewhere on Loch Lomond, gulls and cormorants can be a problem but this is usually solved by applying fine netting to the boat.
No smokers please.
